ISO19001

Back in 1995 Snaidero was the first company in the sector in Italy to obtain international “ISO 9001:1994” certification for its “company quality system”. In 2001 it was also the first business in the sector to receive certification for its compliance with the provisions of the new “ISO 9001:2000” standard.
Whereas the first certification - the “ISO 9001:1994” - was centred on “quality assurance” and its main goal was to guarantee customers that its products met certain quality parameters, the new standard - the “ISO 9001:2000” - focuses on “quality management”. It therefore goes well beyond the goals of the former, striving to achieve complete “customer satisfaction”.

It does this by bringing the company into line with specific operating practices that put the customer at the centre of every process:

1 Analysing their needs & transforming them into requirements;
3 Analysing their satisfaction with the product/service received;
2 Supplying the products/services they request;
4 Improving the management system & the products/services.

FSC CERTIFICATION

The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is an independent non-profit non-governmental organisation set up in order to better world forest management from both an environmental and social point of view whilst sustaining economic viability.

In addition to forest management certification, FSC® also has a certification system for companies that work with wood. It certifies all wood transformation stages. It is known as chain-of-custody certification and companies that work with it can exhibit the FSC brand on the products they process and sell.

Snaidero has been FSC® certified. The high quality materials and processes that it ensures are constantly being upgraded to exceed customer expectations. This FSC® certification means that Snaidero has satisfied FSC standards on chain of custody (CoC) and is authorised to process, transform and sell FSC products in compliance with the principles and criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council®.

FSC® certification also bears witness to Snaidero’s undertaking to use this certification method on furniture carcases and on lacquered cabinets. It could also choose to handle FSC® products for major contracts which do not fall within these two categories.

ISO 14001

ISO 14001 certification is an international standard for production plants that adopt an “environmental management system”. It is a voluntary approach that aims to help companies continuously improve their environmental impact, whilst remaining compliant with applicable legislation. Companies are responsible for setting themselves relevant targets and measuring their results. The strategic objectives of this important standard can be found in the three main commitments that participating companies must subscribe to:

To reduce the environmental impact of operations, such as changes to air, water, or land.

To adhere to applicable legislation and standards and environmental requirements.

Constantly improve the practices mentioned above not just words, daily practice.

Snaidero’s manufacturing philosophy with regard to its kitchens has always been characterised by concrete facts. This is why, also when it comes to managing environmental matters, the company takes concrete steps rather than limiting itself to simple verbal declarations. Steps that contribute, day by day, to keeping the environmental impact of the various individual activities under control. Thus systematically pursuing improvement in a coherent, efficient and sustainable manner. Our “environmental management system” has been ISO 14001 certified since 2003. A highly sought after recognition, achieved completely naturally, as it formalised a company trend that was already deeply rooted in our everyday operations.

RESPONSIBLE PROCUREMENT

Snaidero works only with partners and suppliers that use environmentally responsible practices. This ensures compliance with sustainability laws and promotes a supply chain that is both ethical and eco-conscious.

PRECIOUS RESOURCE

Water is a limited resource and vital to Snaidero’s production processes. Through strict monitoring and water-saving techniques, the company has reduced its overall consumption by more than 70% since 1999.

WASTE MANAGEMENT

Managing waste responsibly helps reduce resource use and promote recycling. Since 1999, Snaidero has cut non-recyclable solid waste by over 90%, thanks to strict reuse and recycling policies.

ATMOSPHERIC POLLUTION

Reducing emissions is central to Snaidero’s sustainability strategy. By lowering fossil fuel consumption in production by more than 85% since 1999, the company actively limits its carbon footprint.

SOLAR ENERGY FOR A

sustainable future

Snaidero has focused on renewable energy, specifically sources that don’t deplete natural resources. Solar energy is a prime example: the sun is a vast, clean, renewable, and cost-free energy source. That’s why the company enthusiastically installed photovoltaic panels across nearly the entire roof of its production facility.

This system generates around 4,000 MWh per year and reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 1,440 tonnes. It also helps lower indoor temperatures during summer by minimising solar heat absorption.

Snaidero has chosen to adopt low-emission panels in the manufacture of its kitchens. This solution is based on 19mm thick wood particle boards with extremely low formaldehyde emissions – less than half of that set out in European standard E1. This is because the company has chosen to comply with one of the strictest international standards. Our low-emission panels comply with the standards set out by the “CARB,” which are particularly restrictive in terms of formaldehyde emissions for wood-based panels and finished products made from the same.
